Ontario County Republican of the Year to be announced at the Constitution Day Dinner Friday Sept. 17

Bonnie Lew, who is very active in local, county and state politics, will be honored as the Ontario County Republican of the Year at the annual Constitution Day Dinner Friday, Sept. 17, at Club 86 in Geneva.

She has been Town of Farmington Republican Committee Chair since 2002.

Presumptive Republican governor candidate Lee Zeldin will be the keynote speaker at the fourth annual Constitution Day Dinner.


The lineup for the dinner will also include NYS Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy, Congressmen Tom Reed and Chris Jacobs, State Senator Pam Helming, State Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan, State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt and State Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay.

Also at the dinner, former State Assemblyman Brian Kolb and former State Senator Rich Funke will be honored for their achievements and support of the Ontario County Republican Committee.

“We are so proud to honor Bonnie’s service to our Party and Committee,” said Chairwoman Trisha Turner. “She exemplifies a good citizen and has been a constant source of inspiration and help to our committee and our government.”

Bonnie was born and raised on Staten Island, NY, and lived there until her husband Morris was commissioned in the Army. He was sent to Ft. Knox, KY., then Ft. Ord, CA. After his active duty ended, they moved to Watertown and then to Pumpkin Hook Farmington in 1978. They have three sons, Scott, Mark and Bill.

In 1979, Bonnie was hired as Farmington Dog Warden. She served as Board Secretary and on the Zoning Board until 1988 and on the Farmington Town Board from 1989 until 2002. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Ontario County Republican Committee and on the New York State Republican Committee.

Bonnie and her husband Morris recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Zeldin is an attorney, member of Congress, and officer in the United States Army Reserve. He has represented New York’s 1st Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives since 2015.
