More than eight years after being shut down following a raid by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives the former Sky Dancer Smoke Shop in Seneca Falls is open again.
The Bayard Street establishment is being operated by a faction of the Cayuga Nation. It officially reopened over Labor Day weekend.
The store is selling untaxed cigarettes and is working to offer gasoline.
It’s being operated by the faction of the Cayuga Nation that opposes federally recognized leader Clint Halftown. He issued a statement saying that the shop has no affiliation with the Nation.
Officials said the store is being operated by members of the former Unity Council.
