Online event is open to all to learn about the Spotted Lanternfly and why officials worry about its destruction

Hobart and William Smith Colleges will be partnering with Finger Lakes PRISM to host and online event about the Spotted Lanternfly.

The event will take place Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and have presentations from NYS Dept. of Ag and Markets, Cornell University, NYS IPM, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and Finger Lakes PRISM.

The presentations will cover what the Spotted Lanternfly is, why it’s a problem, what the response from the state is, and how to plan ahead before it arrives.


There will be a Q&A following the presentations from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
