New York Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin was officially sworn in on Thursday.
Governor Kathy Hochul welcomed Benjamin to her administration and he thanked her for choosing him.
When Hochul took over for former Governor Andrew Cuomo following allegations of sexual harassment, she made it clear she wanted someone from New York City as her lieutenant governor.
Benjamin has been a senator serving Harlem.
