Incarcerated woman dies Wednesday after trying to commit suicide in her cell at the Onondaga County Justice Center

An incarcerated woman’s death is being investigated at the Onondaga County Justice Center.

Angela Peng, 27, was found unconscious and unresponsive last Friday after hanging herself in her cell with a bedsheet.

CPR was performed and she was taken to University Hospital.

She remained in critical condition before passing away Wednesday night.

Peng was in the Justice Center for a probation violation and had been there since Sept. 1.
