Harmful Algal Blooms have become common enough in recreational waters that the City of Geneva and Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association have added informative signage at the Geneva lakefront.
Seven signs were installed before monitoring for HABs began.
The signs inform visitors on how to identify a HAB, what symptoms look like after exposure, and other tips with their slogan, “When in doubt, stay out!”
