Texans that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits will be getting an extension in their emergency assistance for Sept.
$286 million is being provided by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, according to Governor Greg Abbott.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture approved HHSC’s request for the extension of the maximum allowance based on a family’s size.
The 15% increase in total benefits will also continue and show in recipients accounts by Sept. 30th.
