Three years after becoming unionized, Auburn Memorial Medical Services employees vote to get rid of the union

Employees as Auburn Memorial Medical Services have been unionized for three years after voting for it, and now the union is decertified.

An election was held in August and 100 employees were eligible to vote. 62 employees chose to vote with the majority, 32 voters, choosing to end the union. 30 voted in favor of keeping it and 43 did not vote.

The union was disappointed, and 1199SEIU spokesperson Allison Krause said workers lost faith in the power they had to create change when negotiating contracts went on for years.

1199SEIU is accusing Auburn Memorial Medical Services of negotiating and not offering anything of substance.

It is illegal to negotiate without have the intention of reaching an agreement, which AMMS appeared to be doing.
