An event held by the Epidemic Action League was held outside the Nick’s Ride 4 Friends building in Auburn to remember victims of overdose.
The event was in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day and held a dove release and candlelight vigil.
The event began in 2015 when mothers of overdose victims started asking the community for help.
One woman, Michelle Prunner, wants parents to know it could be anyone’s child who falls victim to overdoses and the “not my child” mentality is dangerous.
Prunner lost her daughter who fought addiction for 7 years to an overdose and said places like Nick’s Ride 4 Friends can support those still suffering and in need.
