Some areas have not had in-person school in session in over a year, and with its return, AAA is reminding drivers to drive carefully.
AAA has started a campaign called ‘School’s Open—Drive Carefully’ to remind drivers there are children out and about for school.
Vehicles hitting them are the leading cause of death for children from 5 to 14 years old according to AAA WCNY President Tony Spada.
Drivers need to pay closer attention and parents should help remind children of traffic safety.
The campaign started in 1946.
