As of Tuesday, 130 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Tompkins County, bringing the total to 361.
Many of the newly reported cases are related to students arriving to the colleges in the area for the fall semester.
Tompkins County shared that there are 5 hospitalizations at Cayuga Medical Center.
Tompkins County Public Health Director Frank Kruppa said that the high vaccination rate as well as surveillance of new students has aided to keeping numbers the same instead of drastically increasing like some counties have.
