Victor Franzese, avid racer and owner of Glen Motor Inn, dies at age 81

Victor Franzese, a local racing legend and owner of the Glen Motor Inn in Watkins Glen passed away on Aug. 28.

The Glen Motor Inn has been in Franzese’s family since 1985.

“Vic” Franzese was an avid racer and competed in numerous races throughout his life.




One of his racing highlights was being a team owner of Glen Racing Ltd, where they competed in the Can-Am series with multiple McLarens.

One of his McLarens held the lap record in 1971 at Watkins Glen, driven by Bob Nagel.

He has earned a spot in the Watkins Glen Drivers Walk of Fame.
