Mozaic pushes for Better Care Better Jobs Act to recruit and keep employers

Finger Lakes based Mozaic is not immune to the staffing shortage when it comes to Direct Support Professionals, and Senior Vice President Tammy Slayton said it’s hard to recruit as well as keep employees.

She said the turnover rates for DSPs are anywhere from 45-50%, and the vacancy rate for Mozaic is 25%.

Slayton was part of a roundtable discussion with U.S. Deputy Labor Secretary Julie Su to support the Better Care Better Jobs Act, which works to professionalize DSPs under law and provide them with a livable wage.
