As rental assistance is disbursed, the system in place and applicants are still facing various issues

Democratic lawmakers have offered a solution for the eviction moratorium and how to get the Emergency Rental Assistance Program funds out to renters and landlords.

One suggestion is to add funding.

As of Aug. 23, 46,427 applications had been approved out of the 176,113 submitted.

The total amount that has to be paid out is $808,470,981. 15,548 payments have gone out to landlords.

Funding is going out, but not fast enough.

Some landlords have not provided the appropriate paperwork to receive the money, and one reason could be they do not want tenants there for another year without a rent increase.

The “save and resume” feature to help diminish the glitching happening while applying has already improved the process a small amount.
