The decision on whether masks should be required inside the County Office Building in Penn Yan has been postponed so all members involved can decide.
Administrator Nonie Flynn said the majority of employees would prefer to wear facemasks.
Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County, Arlene Wilson, said it’s something that would make her staff feel safer.
John Prendergast of Kashong Drive, the County’s Republican Party Chairman said he understands people’s want for masks, but that some people just don’t feel they need to wear them and don’t want to.
The full legislature will have a public hearing about it on Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m.
