After Governor Kathy Hochul chose to enforce mask mandates in schools this fall, superintendents of schools are saying she has made them feel positive about the situation.
Deputy director at NYS Council of School Superintendents, Bob Lowry, said they feel encouraged.
In between Andrew Cuomo stepping down and Hochul taking over, she held a meeting with members of education organizations, including Lowry.
He said it’s the first meeting of its kind he remembers ever happening and he felt she really heard their needs and concerns that helped her inform her decision on the mask mandate.
