The Auburn Police Department has seized a problem property where a homicide took place in 2019.
Officers seized control of 8 Delevan Street in the city of Auburn and removed people from the property after a number of crimes and incidents after the homicide.
A court order was signed in July for the property to be turned over to the city of Auburn. Brant Wright previously owned the property, and was taken to court over the matter in 2020. He failed to appear for hearings, which led to the property being obtained by the city.
Through the court order the property will be closed for over a year. Foreclosure proceedings are also underway on the property.
Wright, as owner of the property was fined $237,000 for failing to abate the nuisance it caused in the neighborhood and city.
