One Rochester resident feels relieved after getting her COVID booster shot.
Jackie Fields received a heart transplant in 2017 and is now immunocompromised.
Fields suffered from sarcoidosis after she was active her entire life with no other health issues. Since receiving her transplant she says she has been doing well.
She worries because if she were to contract the virus, she doesn’t believe she would live.
Before masks and social distancing were common practice, Fields was already doing that.
She explained that two years ago she caught a cold and it took two years to fully recover due to her low immunity following the surgery.
Fields urges others to become vaccinated after studies show that those who are vaccinated are less likely to spread the virus.
