Mary Anne Kowalski nominated posthumously for the Woman of Distinction Award

Mary Anne Kowalski, a Romulus activist, was honored at Seneca Lake Wednesday.

Kowalski died unexpectedly May 13 at age 75 just after being nominated for a spot on the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors.


She has been nominated posthumously for the Woman of Distinction Award for Volunteer Service from the Professional Women of the Finger Lakes organization.

Kowalski is originally from Denver and grew up in Albany. She retired in 2005 and relocated to her home on Seneca Lake where she became a leader with Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association, Seneca Lake Guardian and the Committee for the Preservation of the Finger Lakes.
