Businesses around Steuben County were left reeling after intense, historic flooding during the overnight hours after nearly 24 hours of rain before it arrived.
It was all from the refinance of Tropical Storm Fred, which dumped several inches of rain in a matter of hours.
For business owners in Woodhull, located in Steuben County, it cost thousands of dollars.
A catering business on Main Street, which had just completed renovations will have to go back to the drawing board after flooding did significant damage.
Lynn’s Main Street Market Deli had approximately 4 inches of rain inside it. The store’s inventory was washed off the shelves.
“Everything is gone. I don’t even know. I’m devastated. One month today, one month today I was open and here we are today,” Lynn Brewer said.
