A teenage boy has been arrested on several charges after a woman was sexually assaulted while walking with a group of children on Wall Street in Auburn.
The Auburn Police Department says that around 9:45 a.m. a woman was walking with a group of children on Wall Street between Spring Street and Derby Avenue when a teen approached her.
The suspect is 15-years-old and was not identified by law enforcement.
Police said in a news release that the teen grabbed the female from behind, wrestled her t the ground, and attempted to remove her clothing multiple times.
The woman was able to fight off the attacker, and when another person in the neighborhood yelled at the suspect- he stopped.
Police said that the children were subjected to watching the attack, but did not suffer any injuries in the incident.
The teen was charged with attempted rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
