People are giving their dogs up for adoption more than ever as they return to work

As people grew bored during quarantine last year, puppy adoptions were at record highs.

As people begin to return to work, Puppy Mill Rescue Team in Rochester is seeing an unfortunate increase in people surrendering their pets.

In 2020 the organization recorded 43 owners giving up their dog at their location, and so far in 2021 the number is up to 40.

The organization is calling this ‘pandemic puppy.’
