Frozen shrimp is recalled after salmonella outbreak is reported in multiple states

Frozen shrimp have been linked to a salmonella outbreak in multiple states.

The product is manufactured by Avanti Frozen Foods of India and the company is under investigation by the CDC and FDA.

The shrimp in question was imported to the United States between November of 2020 and May of 2021.

The company has previously had a recall of the same type of product that was imported between December of 2020 and February of 2021.

One person was reported ill from consuming shrimp that wasn’t from the first recall so the company expanded the timeframe.

Nine in total have reported illness related to the frozen shrimp: four from Nevada, two from Arizona, two from Michigan and one from Rhode Island.

3 individuals required hospitalization.
