More than 25 businesses have signed up for the voucher program in Cayuga County so far and the last day restaurants can join will be Wednesday, August 18th by 4 p.m.
The program is called Cayuga Counts and was created with $100,000 set aside from the federal American Rescue Plan Act.
After registration for restaurants closes, customers can visit cayugacounts.com beginning Monday, August 23 starting at 1 p.m. to reserve 50% discount vouchers for registered restaurants of their choice.
Vouchers will be sent to people who reserve them by email and they can then be presented to any participating restaurant. The customer can hand in their voucher and pay the other half to receive a gift card for the double the amount.
The gift cards can be used 24 hours after purchase. Vouchers expire Monday, September 13 but the gift cards have no expiration date.
