As Kathy Hochul prepares to take over as the first female governor in two weeks, the Mayor of Rome, Jacqueline Izzo, and Assemblymember Anna Kelles both think it’s the best thing for the state.
Both women have expressed their excitement and confidence in Hochul being a good leader.
Izzo, who happens to be the first female mayor of Rome, said it’s a great way to show people what women can do in this role.
One of this things Hochul is known for is the frequent trips she makes to each county throughout state, something Izzo and Kelles think will benefit her.
Izzo, who is Republican, said that while their views on policies may not align, overall the common goal is to make New York better.
