Auburn City Council approved the transfer of $167,679.60 to code enforcement to cover the cost of the Wall Street Methodist Episcopal Church’s demolition in June.
The money came from the American Rescue Plan Act that was given to the city.
The demolition of the church is in a focus area for the city, making it qualify for the money from the funding.
The city still possesses artifacts from the church that will eventually find homes, like bell and stained glass windows.
