Pro Action acquires land in Hornell to construct new playground and greenspace

A recent demolition on Olive Place in Hornell has given the city plenty of opportunity for new possibilities.

The building previously contained apartment units until a fire destroyed it in February.

The fire was contained but the building was too damaged to save, so Pro Action acquired the building and worked with the Steuben County Land Bank to demolish it.

Pro Action had the property donated to them, and the company is a nonprofit focused on helping individuals in the community prosper.

The plan for the property is for Pro Action to construct a new playground and greenspace area.

Pro Action plans to continue its partnership with the land trust and seek out new projects to benefit the community.
