The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office reports a fatal motorcycle accident involving one motorcycle occurred on the southbound lanes of State Route 14 near the Watkins Glen Golf Course in the Town of Reading on Friday, August 6 around 3:45 p.m.
The motorcycle operator, Rodney A. Bowser of Bowie PG, Maryland, lost control of his motorcycle, striking a guard rail. He then struck a road sign.
Bowser was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Watkins Glen Fire Department, Watkins Glen Police Department, Schuyler Ambulance and the New York State Police assisted Schuyler County Deputies at the scene.
The accident is currently under investigation.
