Seneca Falls Police Department shares numbers for the month of July

In July 2021, members of the Seneca Falls Police Department documented 2074 duty-related events. These events include: responding to 862 calls for service, conducting 1031 property checks on both business and residential properties, and 161 traffic stops.

Sixty-Eight traffic tickets were issued consisting of 4 Felony, 16 Misdemeanor, and 48 Infractions. Out of these traffic tickets, officers arrested five individuals for Driving While Intoxicated.


Twenty-Eight motor vehicle crashes were investigated in July, consisting of 4 personal injuries and 24 property damage.
Thirty-One individuals were arrested, resulting in 36 Penal Law charges. These charges yielded the filing of 2 Felony, 14 Misdemeanors, and 20 Violations with Town Court. This agency recorded one subject resistance report in July during these contacts, resulting in no injuries to civilians or officers. There were zero citizen/officer complaints filed and numerous citizen/officer compliments filed.

The Seneca Falls Police Department members utilized the department iPad for remote mental health services three times. Out of the three times, all three individuals were stabilized within their home, requiring no transports for further evaluation by Clifton Springs Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program.

In comparing July 2020 to July 2021, calls for service were up 30% (661/862); criminal charges were down 26.5% (49/36); traffic tickets were down 10.5% (76/68); traffic accidents were down 20% (35/28). Domestic Disturbance was down 7% (27/25); Mental Health Incidents were down 26% (23/17); Driving While Intoxicated arrests were up 400% (1/5).
