With a $20,000 grant awarded to the Lyons Community Center on behalf of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Fund for Youth Sports, there are big plans for the center’s basketball teams.
One plan is to revitalize the basketball leagues after they were disrupted by the pandemic. The center also plans to add midnight basketball, four-day tournaments, fix transportation issues, financial issues, and the issues with lack of resources that stop youth from being able to participate in sports.
The parking lot will be resurfaced, hoops will be added, and coaches will be trained with the grant money.
