A former Penn Yan resident could spend several years in state prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony counts related to the theft of over $108,000.
Amy Wetmore, 42, previously known as Amy MacKerchar, was charged after stealing money while serving as the director of the enriched housing program at an apartment complex for seniors in Penn Yan.
She now lives in Phelps, was suspended from her job- then fired.
The investigation lasted two years, and began in 2018. Sentencing is set for September 21, where she could face 3-9 years in prison.
