Syracuse University joins other colleges with requiring face masks indoors

Like many other college campuses, Syracuse University will be requiring the use of masks indoors for everyone, regardless of vaccination status.

Onondaga County was designated as a substantial transmission area on Sunday.

The mandate started Tuesday August 3 and includes dining halls and fitness centers on campus.

The mandate is temporary until transmission rates decline and the requirement for vaccines for students and staff went into effect in June.
