As vaccine mandates become a topic of discussion throughout the country, protests have become more common.
Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin stated that a vaccination mandate would be discriminating against employees based on private and personal health decisions which flies in the face of the principles of liberty and justice.
Over 600 colleges are requiring the vaccine from students and employees.
Ohio Wesleyan University said if students do not want to get the vaccine they are free to transfer or take a leave of absence.
A senior attending the college stated that the moved seemed “borderline unethical” and questioned why they would put her through that during her senior year.
Officials for the university say the reason is to keep everyone safe.
Governor Cuomo said his reasoning for pushing the vaccine is because he “cannot go through what we went through over the past year” including the economy.
