Police ask for public’s help after Ithaca homicide, investigators say victim likely targeted

Police continue to investigate the fatal shooting that happened on the 200 block of Taughannock Boulevard on July 20.

Now, they are asking for the public to help them with it.


The victim was identified as 32-year-old Alan Godfrey, who was likely targeted, according to police.

The homicide occurred in what police say is a well-traveled area and they believe several cars and pedestrians were in, or passed through.
