Sheriff: Geneva driver ticketed after two-car crash, vehicles hit eight pedestrians on Rt. 14

Sheriff Kevin Henderson says deputies and first responders were called to State Route 14 and Glass Factory Bay for a personal injury crash involving pedestrians around 7:23 p.m.

Investigators say Patrick Babb, 24, of Geneva was traveling south on State Route 14 when he went to make a left turn onto Glass Factory Bay in front of Corey Bray, 31, of Lyons.

Bray was traveling north- and the two vehicles collided. Following impact, investigators said in a news release that the vehicles struck eight pedestrians who were standing on the corner of Glass Factory Bay and State Route 14.

All eight pedestrians and both drivers were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, Geneva General Hospital, or Thompson Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

One of the ten patients was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital as a precaution due to pregnancy, Sheriff Henderson said in the overnight update.

Babb was ultimately cited for reckless driving and failing to yield the right of way.

Investigators said New York State Police, White Springs Fire, West Lake Road Fire, Gorham Ambulance, North Seneca Ambulance, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Ontario County Emergency Management all assisted at the scene.
