The Schorr Family Firehouse Stage is excited to announce the lineup for performances held in its innovative RestART Tent this August. From comedy shows to music, August is jam-packed with shows you won’t want to miss.
COMEDY: Want to start August off with some laughs? Join the standup comedy duo Chris Roach and Dennis Rooney for a side-splitting performance at 8 p.m. on August 7. Chris Roach is known for his role as Mott on the hit CBS sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” as well as his unique and self-deprecating humor. He’ll be joined by Dennis Rooney, a New York stand up comedian, who will be sure to make you laugh with his sarcastic humor. This event is intended for mature audiences. Tickets are $15.
FILM PREMIERE: Be one of the first audiences to see a film shot right here in Binghamton at the film premiere of Christopher Keeler’s “The Dark Web.” On August 14, experience the second film in a trilogy about private detective Stuart Tyrrell. Shot in the Binghamton area, this festival award winning film will take you on a dark crime noir-style ride. Tickets are $10.
CANINE COMEDY: On August 15 at 5p.m., Johnny Peers and his Muttville Comix Dog Revue will make their way onto the RestART stage. This creative canine circus will wow adults and children alike, as these rescue dogs perform stunts and tricks. This comedic show will be a great night out for the family or any dog lovers out there. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
LIVE JAZZ: Take a break from your daily grind and relax with an Enjoy Jazz night featuring Al Hamme’s 8-Alarm-Fire Jazztet on August 16 at 7 p.m. Al Hamme has been described as the “Southern Tier’s Grandfather of Jazz”. He is a founder of the jazz program at Binghamton University, and has helped to build the regional jazz community in many ways. Each concert features musicians and vocalists curated by host Mike Carbone, director of Jazz Studies at Binghamton University. Tickets are $10.
LADIES OF LAUGHTER COMEDY: Our wildly popular Ladies of Laughter series returns with comedians Kelly MacFarland and Liz Glazer. Kelly is an experienced stand up comedian with an extensive resume from major comedy clubs nationwide to television appearances on the likes of Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central. Liz is an award winning comedian, being the 2021 Ladies of Laughter and Boston Comedy Festival. Join them on August 28 at 7 p.m. for a night full of laughter. Tickets are $15.
