President Biden’s administration is making $3 billion dollars available to communities in the form of economic grants.
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said applications started being accepted Thursday.
The hopes are for many jobs to be created in the communities struggling that get the grants.
The main focus of the grants will be to support local infrastructure, job training programs and developing new industries.
Recipients of the grant are going to be judged on how well the return on investment to taxpayers will be.
The overall goal of these grants is to rebuild communities.
