South Main Street in Geneva will see two new construction projects starting in 2022

The Geneva City Planning Board approved a site plan for a project that would redevelop the Trinity Episcopal Church on South Main Street.

The project aims to turn the church into a 25 room inn, restaurant and a center for events.

Mark McGroarty’s company McGroarty Investments will be in charge of the project and he said he hopes construction can begin in February of 2022.

Part of the Zoning Board’s approval required McGroarty Investments to secure an additional 35 parking spaces outside of their 76 on-site spots.

The Ontario County Board of Supervisors approved the use of Finger Lakes Community College’s parking lot in Geneva in exchange for scholarship funds for the college and internships in related fields of study.

In addition to this project, South Main also plans to see Pine Ridge Construction begin their project where the old American Legion is.

The plan is to build a hotel with 125 rooms, a brewery, a restaurant and up to 60 townhouses. The plan is to begin construction in March.

The next step for the project at Trinity Church is to obtain a building permit.
