New York State has officially fallen below the established rate set by the federal government in order to qualify for the highest level of Federal Extended Unemployment Benefits.
That means unemployed workers will only be eligible for a maximum of 13 weeks of extended benefits come August 9.
Claimants who have received 13+ weeks of EB will no longer be eligible for EB on their existing claim after that week.
Those unemployed workers may be eligible for PEUC or PUA benefits through early-September. However, they will need to continue certifying weekly.
