Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is urging individuals to get the vaccine in order to avoid a repeat of shutdowns and virus spread like last year.
McConnell urges people to not listen to bad advice and has been one of the most outspoken Republicans on the topic of vaccines, often speaking about it in his home state of Kentucky.
Without tearing down those who in his party that do not agree with his stance, he expresses his disappointment in those who choose to not get the vaccine.
McConnell often talks on his own experiences as a survivor of childhood polio, talking about the societal relief that came with the discovery of a vaccine.
He stated that he never thought with the development of a vaccine for a deadly illness that it would be a struggle to get Americans to actually get the shot.
