Ontario County Deputy recognized for efforts in DWI/DWAI arrests

The STOP-DWI Top Cop Award was given to Deputy Ian Hall of Ontario County for the year 2020.

The Board of Supervisors recognized his efforts in keeping the roads safe.


Mary Beer, the coordinator for STOP-DWI and director of Ontario County Public Health said that Hall alone was responsible forf 48 arrests related to drunk driving during 2020 which accounted for 15% of all arrests for impaired driving in the county.

Hall has been working with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office since 2018 and recently graduated from training with his K-9 partner, Sandy.

Hall has also received the 2020 Paul Harris Award from the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club.
