With unemployment being over 7% last month in New York City, Governor Cuomo has signed a bill that will provide individuals seeking unemployment with information on housing, food and utility assistance.
The law requires the Department of Labor to provide information regarding mortgage support, rental assistance, food assistance and utility assistance.
The web portal used by the department will offer information about Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the Emergency Rental Assistance Program and the Home Energy Assistance Program.
The goal is to provide people that need this information an easier way to obtain it all in one place instead of them having to search for it.
