Canadian border set to open to U.S. Citizens August 9th

U.S. citizens can start visiting Canada on August 9th.

The borders will fully open to the rest of the world September 7th.

The quarantine time will be lifted for citizens living in the U.S. with full vaccinations.

The U.S. has not announced if they will be opening the border yet.

Canada currently has some of the highest vaccination rates with 80% of their population vaccinated with their first dose and over 50% with both doses.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that opening the border to the U.S. first is a reflection of the close bond between the countries.

It’s estimated that for each month the border is closed the loss of revenue is around $1.5 billion dollars.
