Senator Kirsten Gillibrand urges families to sign up for the Child Tax Credit which is predicted to cut the number of children living in poverty in Schenectady County down by 45%.
Gillibrand said the roll out of these tax credits comes at a time when families are still having a hard time because of the pandemic.
Families that have filed tax returns within the previous two years or received Covid-19 stimulus checks will automatically receive the credit.
Families can sign up at childtaxcredit.gov.
