Police: Driver that caused three-vehicle crash in Seneca Falls had revoked license

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports the arrest of a Rochester man following an investigation into a crash that happened on July 16 on State Route 318. The driver, who was charged this week left the scene of the crash.

Following investigation, it was determined that a vehicle operated by William Weiman III, 32, of Rochester struck the back of another vehicle operated by Charles Mitchell, 73, of Dansville.

The collision caused the vehicle being operated by Mitchell to strike the rear of a vehicle operated by Laurel Sweeny, 67, of Palmyra.

Following the collision Sweeny complained of neck pain but refused medical treatment.

Police say Weiman left the scene of the crash before they arrived. He had a prior conviction of aggravated unlicensed operation, and also had a revoked license.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and following too closely.

He’s scheduled to appear at a later date in local court.
