Rochester is facing the highest number of overdoses they’ve ever had on record

Don Samuel Torres Park in Rochester has unfortunately been a place for drugs and needles for years.

Felix Velez, a Rochester native, says this is a common thing and happens so often there should be biohazard waste bins along the fences at the park.

Data from the CDC shows that overdose deaths for 2020 were at 93,000, 32% higher than 2019.

In June of the 84 reported overdoses, 15 were fatal and laced with Xylazine, or horse tranquilizer.

Overdoses are commonly underreported.
