Poll: New Yorkers think we’ve rounded the corner with pandemic

A Siena College Research Institute Poll shows that 68% of New Yorkers think the worst of the pandemic is over, and 17% think the worst is yet to come.

The following statistics are what New Yorkers feel with summer months upon us:

84% are at least somewhat comfortable having friends over to their home.

80% are at least somewhat comfortable going to a beach or lakefront.


78% are at least somewhat comfortable going on vacation in the U.S.

77% are at least somewhat comfortable eating indoors at a restaurant.

47% are somewhat worried about themselves or a family member becoming sick with the virus.

70% think schools will re-open in person this fall without a mask requirement.


72% expect schools and workplaces will continue to encourage social distancing and masking.
