The SUNY school system is asking its students to get vaccinated before the start of the fall semester in an attempt to have them experience as normal of a college year as possible.
The state has issued a vaccine mandate for any students pursuing in-person classes this year, but the plan is contingent on the full FDA approval of at least one of the vaccines, which hasn’t happened yet.
A survey shows that almost 75% of students say they have had at least one dose of the vaccine.
Unvaccinated faculty will be mandated to complete weekly testing for Covid-19.
