Rep. John Katko has asked Treasury Secretary Janet Yellin for an update regarding the plan to place Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill.
Katko and Joyce Beatty, Ohio Democratic Party Representative, wrote to Yellin six months after the Biden Administration said they were exploring ways to speed up the effort.
The Obama Treasury Department originally announced the plan in 2016, but the Trump Administration would not commit to it.
Katko continues to be one of the leading supporters of Tubman in Congress, continuing to reintroduce legislation that would get her image on the twenty dollar bill.
