First responders were called a personal injury crash on Vine Street in Naples a little before 5 a.m. on Thursday, according to a news release from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Matthew Kingston, 38, of Stanley was operating a vehicle, which had struck a utility pole.
When deputies arrived- they found a vehicle that had been traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the utility pole- splitting it in half- and traveling down an embankment approximately 10 feet.
Kingston was not at the scene when deputies arrived- and was instead at his home. He was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage crash, failure to keep right, and speeding.
He’ll answer the charges at a later date in local court.
